🚨The day is finally here!!! 🚨
Just this morning, we received the official thumbs up from Facebook and Instagram to launch one of Social Report's most requested features: direct video scheduling to Instagram.
Yes, you read that right.
Social Report users can now schedule all the video posts—and GIF posts—they want to their Instagram accounts, straight from their computer (meaning no ridiculous smartphone workaround required).
Additionally, we are the first social media management platform to officially offer direct video scheduling to Instagram.
At the time of launching this feature and writing this announcement, no other social media management apps offer direct Instagram video scheduling (not Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout, Agorapulse, or any other platforms in our space!).
A world with direct video scheduling to Instagram is a world we know every marketer and digital agency is thrilled to be a part of.
The days of anxiously sitting around on your phone, thumbing through your incredibly small video post preview on your phone, and waiting for the clock to strike posting time are over. It's time to rejoice.
Ready to try it for yourself?
Below, we'll run through how to use Social Report to schedule your Instagram video posts. Let's dive in!
How to directly schedule a video post to Instagram
Scheduling a video to Instagram is largely the same as direct scheduling to an image to Instagram—but there are a few limitations you need to keep in mind in terms of video size and duration.
Here's what they are:
- File type: MOV or MP4
- Maximum aspect ratio 16:9
- Minimum aspect ratio: 4:5
- Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920
- Duration: 60 seconds maximum, 3 seconds minimum
- File size: 100MB maximum
Once you have a video made that fits these specs, follow these steps to schedule a video to Instagram in Social Report.
1. Create a new post on Social Report
First thing's first: we need to create a new post in Social Report.
Do this by simply clicking on the Schedule a Post button at the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
2. Add your video to the post
Click the Attach Media button at the center of the screen. Then, look at the top of the Media Library window, click on the Videos tab, and click Upload from Disk to upload your new video.
Once the video is uploaded, select it from the library and click the Select button to add it to your post.
3. Add a video caption
Then, add your video caption in the message box. This will be posted along-side your Instagram video, so be sure to add your hashtags and other supporting content here.
Additionally, you can preview your video post by hovering over its icon on the left-hand side of the window.
4. Time to actually schedule your post
Now, just schedule your post using one of our scheduling options at the top of the screen. Then click schedule, and your Instagram video will post automatically—it's that easy!
Note: Just remember that you can only direct schedule videos to Instagram Business Profiles—not personal profiles.
By the way, Social Report is a video scheduling powerhouse
With the addition of direct Instagram video scheduling, Social Report users can also schedule videos to all major social networks. Here's just a short list of the social media networks that we currently offer video post scheduling for:
